Coaching Interventions

The following are the types of leadership coaching interventions that may be included in a coaching process, among others:

- Develop strategies to improve the performance of his or her business or work unit

- Have planning, goal setting and/or follow-up progress report meetings with the leader and his or her boss, sponsor or mentor.

- Collect and share perceptions from colleagues and/or other stakeholders and direct reports about the leader’s effectiveness.

- Provide guidance to ensure productive working relationships exist through direct reports from colleagues and other senior managers

- Assess the leader’s personal style, approaches to managing conflict, emotional intelligence and or use of power, among other assessments. Use 360° assessments to gauge the person’s effectiveness as a leader and manager.

- Work with the leader to identify and resolve personal, self-defeating behaviors.

- Provide tools to enhance the overall analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills of the leader.
